Myck, That's funny, because I had Lost Creek in mind when I thought of the idea for this thread. I just didn't want to single them out.

I made the trek over to lost creek prior to shenandoah's polish american parade, also spent about a half hour at William Penn talking about their former 195?? International engine hostaged inside the delapidating mess. the told me its so bad that the beacon has to be removed off the roof to get the engine out. IRONICALLY i drove by last evening & the bay door was up with the park bench accross .nodody around, however the door open was the empty bay,i dont think the other door will now clear the beacon to open all the way

I once again made an attempt to buy the 1953 International, but to no avail..... The remaining members were supposed to have someone come in and put some supports under the part of the second floor that is collapsing. I'm supposed to be the first to know if anything changes as far as them getting rid of the truck. We'll see!

We'll see! what a dam shame, that building is a safety hazard can't the twp see that and to have someone try and do anything but demolish that building is ridiculous. i stopped by the day of polish american before i stopped at william penn's station, and as usual for the summer the "bench "was in the open bay door, now not only is leaving the engine in their to be destroyed ,but by allowing anyone in/near the building is a safety issue, add the electricity to the both delapidated stations is only an invitation for disaster. i only hope the guy that sits in the bay on the bench that gave me the tour last year, isn't sitting on the bench when it finally comes down.this guy literally was living in fantasy land with how he talked about the engine going on calls and running ,when in reality i know the real story of them being closed by the twp.i hope someone will save the 53 international last i saw it it was in near mint condition & chief it was told to me since this picture from last year the bay door wont go up because it now hits the beacon/siren!!! what does it take to have the building condemmed ?

If they had any training about collapse zones, that bench would be out by the road.

I was recently talking to a friend of mine about the Lost Creek engine and the state of station. He even said the fire museum has tried to get the 1955 International to no avail. Has anybody contacted or wrote the township about the station. Like was stated if this building still has electric, what a big safety issue. Let alone the condition of the building. Can someone provide me with addresses for the local township officials and the local newspapers. If I can I will be up there next Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully I can get there Saturday. I want to get some updated photos if the building is still standing. I can't believe the current members of Lost Creek wouldn't want to preserve some of their memories by saving the engine. Do they have anything in the station, such as company records? Well I better end before I explode. I hate thinking about what can happen to this engine.
