One of the two Fire Apparatus loves of my life, my 1948 American LaFrance 700 Series Aerial. It's currently undergoing a complete rebuild at the Texas Fire Museum. Despite its rough outward appearance, it's almost fully functional, with the exception of the headlights and other warning lights/devices. And, of course, my number one, Ole Gray, a 1947 American LaFrance 700 Series Engine. I really hope to have the Aerial completed and able to show with the Engine by the 2009 SPAAMFAA National Summer Muster in Indianapolis. I can't get in too big of a hurry, though. A very special thanks to Steve Hagy for providing this last photograph.
