Tom, As alway excellent job with the photo's. My wife and I took the trip to check out the museum only to be told when we got there that we could not enter the building. My friends and I were very disappointed, I was looking forward to seeing the older stuff. The owner apparently did not get the necessary permits to have people come though the building and did not have fire exists marked and other violations. You would think that with all of the people coming out for this, that would of been taken care of before they advertised it in all of the fire publications. I was also told that the man that owns this collection bought the land across the road for a new museum building. He is supposed to turn the current build into the restoration shop. I will wait until that happens before making another trip there.

MIKE; yes we too got told no entry but found a way in anyhow, i was talking to wner andy about the aristies ward lafrance patriotex summit station. he told me it was getting a head gasket repaired at his long island location. from reading on firepics.net the problem is they won't give him an occupancy permitfor the circleville propety, typical politics .i am going to post some inside pics i got however lighting was poor, so pics aren't that good. i saw a local piece inside (espy's fwd)having most apparatus outside was better than the way it was the first trip & being only a little over an hour away i certainly will treck up next year, unless fuel is 10.00 per gallon next year but that has yet to be seen but not an outrageous possibility. i only wish the heat didn't get the best of me so i could have went to the rear of the property to see the waiting apparatus in the yard to get its chance inside the 4 acre warehouse!!!

Tom other than the participants haulers, there really was nothing back there with paint on it. The only exception to that was the former MASS. DOT Walther(?) truck with the double-auger snow blower (MASSIVE truck), which was very impressive. The rear of the building was mostly outside storage of parts/donor trucks, but there were a few rarities that would be nice to see restored, sucah as a Ward LaFrance Rescue Truck that served Greenwich, CT. The amount of trucks he has inside IS very impressive, and he (Andy Leider) does have other locations for storage scattered across the Catskill / NYC area. According to Luke Payntar (he has 50 rigs, mostly all in Circleville), Andy may now have close to 600 trucks. My favorite was the 1969 Diamond Reo (Bean High Pressure Pump)/ UNK body maker, from Fort Montgomery, NY. Still in active sevice and VERY sharp.
