Same truck almost 40 years later. The 1937 and the 1949 Foxes were used as front line pieces up til 1982.

This was a fire across from Lansford's Station on Patterson St. (route 209) The 1924 Fox is at the hydrant. If you look closely, Mickles 51 GMC Rescue is in the background.

Lansford's 1916 Ahrens Fox Steamer on a White Chasis. This piece was used after its retirement to test hose. Until the late 1960's. We sold it to a collector in Mass. and the last we heard he was getting the boiler re-certified.

I found out some interesting information. Apparently Lansford's 1916 Ahrens Fox Steamer was the LAST Steam Pumper produced by Fox. I found only one source so far saying that. Maybe somebody can help confirm it.

Dayton, Ohio Engine 8 1939 Ahrens-Fox 1000 GPM #9039 Model: EC This series of Ahrens-Fox apparatus was based on a Schacht truck chassis. Notice the Buckeye Roto-Ray warning light, which was made in Dayton, poking up over the cab roof. A beautiful rig with the wood ground ladders and a bell. I have information indicating this rig was wrecked in 1954.

Lansford's 1949 Ahrens-Fox was bought used in 1964. It originally served in West Mifflin, PA. It was sold to Art Garabedian in Anaheim, CA, then Bob Fearnehough in Pasadena, CA (I rode on it several times when Bob had it, and even got to pump it once), then Hewy Wick in Hemet, CA. The pump was badly damaged in a fire in Hewy Wick's barn. This Fox now belongs to Bill Dundas, Camarillo, CA, who obtained an identical pump from a junked Ahrens-Fox out of Canton, Ohio and plans to restore it.

Lansford 1937 Ahrens-Fox was also sold to Art Garabedian in Anaheim, CA. It was at Searles Valley Historical Society in Trona, CA, in the Mojave Desert east of Los Angeles. Now at Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, CA (SE of Los Angeles) and you can find a fairly recent photo of it at: www.flickr.com/photos/mr38/4448243959/
